Marriage

I was in line at Wal-mart the one stop shopping store Ha Ha... and ran in to two friends of mine. They know who they are and I'm sure they read this Blog...I hope they don't mind that their the inspiration for this posting :)
Both Friends very different there is one thing that ties them together........... A recent break-up of a Relationship / Marriage. One a few year and the other of many years.

Their dream of a so called perfect marriage broken like an egg. They both agreed "through sickness and in health till death do them part" A very strong committed!!!
So, tell me what happens to 50% of marriages?? A 50/50 chance...REALLY. Now, if someone 24 yrs ago would have told me there is a 50/50 chance you and your husband-to-be will be divorce! I know dang I would have walked away....I'm a gambler and I know 50/50 odds are crap!!!
Why do we still take the chance..breaking ties in a relationship are never easy to go through. There is hurt, anger, frustration.
I think it's because our souls are design to love thats what we do...but our souls are not design to confinement. What I'm asking you all is are we made up to love more than one person? I'm not sure just a question I ask?
I'm no expert here that why I look for feed back from others on this.
I'm sure my friends had the commitment, love, desire and the will to make their relationship work.
Did the relationship really go wrong or did they just gain what they wanted to learn and experience with that partner and decide to move on?
My thought...should we stop saying "till death do us part" Should we say "till we have gain what our souls need to learn"
Don't mis-understand I believe in marriage! I have been married for a very long time. I fell like I'm always learning from Tony. Maybe I'm just not a quick learner...LOL

For those who are in the mist of their experience, do what feels good for you! If you stay on the path of being single or if you re-engaged in your relationship. Ask yourself one thing..."Does this feel good" and act upon it!!  No one can judge!

For me...Tony is the one who make me laugh, smile, cry, angry and make me feel like I'm living a "Teenage Dream!!"
Remember feedback is always welcomed :)

Sunday Thought....

"Wake up! If you knew for certain you had a terminal illness – if you had little time left to live – you would waste precious little of it! Well, I'm telling you…you do have a terminal illness: It's called birth. You don't have more than a few years left. No one does! So be happy now, without reason – or you will never be at all."

~ Dan Millma
This thought really hit home for me!!!! I have Never listen to the words of this song...funny!!
All I know is I'm going sky diving, rocky mountain climbing and I'm going 2.7 seconds on a bull named Fu Man Chew!!!!  I crack myself up!!! LOL!

Firework

I will be the 1st to admitted I have never really been a big fan of Katie Perry. However there is an amazing message in the lyrics on her song Firework. We all have a light within us that shines so very bright!

Find your Light!!!

Do you ever feel like a plastic bag

Drifting throught the wind

Wanting to start again

Do you ever feel, feel so paper thin

Like a house of cards

One blow from caving in

Do you ever feel already buried deep

Six feet under scream

But no one seems to hear a thing

Do you know that tehre's still a chance for you

Cause there's a spark in you

You just gotta ignite the light

And let it shine

Just own the night
Like the Fourth of July

Cause baby you're a firework

Come on show 'em what your worth

Make 'em go "Oh, oh, oh!"
As you shoot across the sky-y-y

Baby you're a firework

Come on let your colors burst

Make 'em go "Oh, oh, oh!"
You're gunna leave 'em fallin' down-own-own

You don't have to feel like a waste of space

You're original, cannot be replaced

If you only knew what the future holds
After a hurricane comes a rainbow

Maybe you're reason why all the doors are closed

So you can open one that leads you to the perfect road

Like a lightning bolt, your heart will blow

And when it's time, you'll know

You just gotta ignite the light

And let it shine

Just own the night
Like the Fourth of July

Cause baby you're a firework

Come on show 'em what your worth

Make 'em go "Oh, oh, oh!"
As you shoot across the sky-y-y

Baby you're a firework

Come on slet your colors burst

Make 'em go "Oh, oh, oh!"
You're gunna leave 'em fallin' down-own-own

Boom, boom, boom

Even brighter than the moon, moon, moon

It's always been inside of you, you, you
And now it's time to let it through

Cause baby you're a firework

Come on show 'em what your worth

Make 'em go "Oh, oh, oh!"
As you shoot across the sky-y-y

Baby you're a firework

Come on slet your colors burst

Make 'em go "Oh, oh, oh!"
You're gunna leave 'em goin "Oh, oh, oh!"

Boom, boom, boom
Even brighter than the moon, moon, moon

Boom, boom, boom,

We all are bright light!!

All we need is LOVE....

The Beatles said it best...:All We Need is Love"

I sat down at my computer today, like I have for the past few days, and waited for the flood of thoughts to begin. I sat, and I sat, and I sat. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. So I shut my eyes and just sat and listened to the music playing in the background. It was so peaceful.

I was filled with an overwhelming sense of gratitude. Gratitude for all that I have and for the journey I've been on. I have transformed from an sometimes angry, depressed and fearful person into someone joyful, loving and thankful. I'm not completely fearless, but I face my fears today, instead of hiding from them.

How did this happen? How did I turn things around for myself? How can someone go from the depths of a personal Hell to soaring in the sky joyfulness? It took a lot of soul searching and tears. It took a lot of falling down and getting back up again. I always had the falling down part right, but it was the getting back up that I normally struggled with.

I got help from dfferent sources. The Divine,  my dear Friend E, my patient Mr. Man,  a large number of books and an even larger number of bloggers. There was one person in paticular that helped me the most. That person was me.

I was the one who allowed this transformation to take place. I was the one who told the bully living inside of me to get lost and I am the one who makes sure that bully stays lost. I have learned how to love and protect myself. I have moved from a person who really hated herself to person who embraces who she is and loves her regardless of any mistakes she may have or will make.

I wish that everyone in this world could just love themselves. What a wonderful world that would be. I wish I could help those that struggle with this. I for one know that no one can love themselves till they are ready. I can share my story till I'm blue in the face and if someone isn't ready to love themself my words will just get lost. Believe me, many words were lost to me. Just ask E. Poor kid. She tried for a long time to get me to see that I was worthy. No luck.

I am worthy. You are worthy. EVERYONE is worthy. EVERYONE!

I hope that today you all know what it feels like to fully love and accept yourself. And if you're not there yet, I hope that day comes soon. Today I plan to finish my quiet time by sitting and sharing this loving energy to those people in the world who are living in darkness and fear. Living shiny is a gift we all should possess.

Self Love is a battlefield!!! Someday we love with deep passion and others to hate ourselves is easy as pie...lol

They say the one you love the most is the one you hurt the most often.   Just saying...

Feeling a little lost...

Schedule...to do list...deadlines...This is what I have lived and die by for the last 12 yrs. I have be feeling a little lost with the new life style. Here is some helpful tip I have found to keep me in the mind set I still have schedule... to do list...and deadlines :)     ( I still have purpose...LOL)

  1. Make your bed
Don’t underestimate the sabotaging power of an unmade bed. It sends a negative message to your subconscious. Make your bed dailyand you’ll form a habit of doing it fast (mine takes me about 3 minutes). It will mark the threshold into starting the day well, and provide a welcoming sanctuary when the day is over.
  2. Deal with the urgent
Every day, scan your emails, mail, noticeboard, phone messages, etc, for anything that demands prompt attention. Matters like notices for school, renewals and bills due for payment can become time-consuming or expensive problems later. Avoid those problems by dealing with the urgent today.
  3. Get some exercise
Take a gym class, go for a walk, lift tins of soup, lunge around your house while on the phone – do anything that gets you moving. And if you have a sedentary life, move as often as you can. Stop making excuses (no one is listening) and just do it.
  4. Have something to look forward to
Plan something that makes you happy every single day. I can’t wait to get out of bed every morning because I love sipping coffeeand doing the crossword. And I love reading in bed at night. Your daily treats could be playing Angry Birds on your iPhone, taking a bath, making your favourite tea after dinner, listening to tunes – anything you enjoy and look forward to.
  5. Eat vegetables
They help you stay slim and healthy, so eat them! Add salad or vegetables to your meals wherever you can.
  6. Do something nice for someone else
This is a lovely habit to get into. Can you give someone a genuine compliment? Offer encouragement or compassion? Give a giftor do a favor? The important thing here is to choose things you can do lovingly – not things that feel like an imposition or burden. Find one to do every day.
  7. Achieve something productive and/or meaningful
Can you make progress on an important project, take time with a loved one, take action toward a goal? Forget busywork and instead focus on achieving something every day – big or small – that gives you a sense of meaning and/or achievement.
  8. Tidy up at night
Spending 10 minutes every night doing a quick tidy will make all the difference to the way you feel as you head to bed, and especially to the way you feel when you start the next day. Keep it simple – even if all you do is wash the dishes, put toys in a toy bin and clothes in a basket, and use a hand-vac to scoop up the day’s crumbs, you’ll feel pretty pleased with yourself.
  9. Feel grateful
Psych research has shown that counting your blessings boosts your happiness, so make it a ritual to reflect on the good things in your life every day. Do it as you eat breakfast in the morning or while you brush your teeth at night – but make it a habit. Got all your limbs? Have a nice house, good friends or a talent for ikebana? Lucky you!
  10. Make a list for tomorrow
Before you head to bed, make a quick list of things to do and remember tomorrow. This will get them out of your head so yousleep better, help you feel organized, and give you a map for the next day.
    Enjoy life!!!

5 People Who Aren’t Responsible For Your Happiness

I follow a blog thought this was a good reminder to something I learn awhile back...Funny at one point in my life I really believed it was my husbands job to make me happy...LOL!!!

Who do you look to to make your life happy and fulfilling? Are they making the grade?
There are some people to whom you really shouldn’t delegate responsibility for your happiness. Don’t worry – there are only five.

1. Your spouse

You’ve committed yourself to your spouse for life. Doesn’t that entitle you to their undying efforts to keep you happy?
Thankfully, no.
Relying on your spouse to keep your happiness butterflies a-flutter is too much of a burden on them. Plus, it denies you one of the most valuable skills there is: the ability to make yourself happy.
Enjoy the ways your spouse contributes to your happiness, but don’t expect them to be its onlysource.

2. Your children

Isn’t it every parent’s hope to raise capable, independent children?
The way you are with them will affect the way they are in the world. Are you modeling self-responsibility or leaning a little too hard?

3. Your parents

This one tends to get inverted, with people not so much expecting parents to make them happy as blaming parents for their unhappiness.
Let’s face it though: blame is the flip-side of responsibility. If you’re blaming, you’re dodging responsibility.
However good, bad or hideous your parents were in the past, don’t let that stop you grabbing the baton and changing to a happier direction today.

4. Your employer or boss

It’s a shocking truth for any employee to face, but your personal conveniences and preferences are unlikely to be integral to your employers’ mission statement.
They are responsible for shareholders’ happiness. You are responsible for yours.

5. Your friends

As Mr T never said (but should have), “I pity the fool who expects their friends to make them happy”. Because the friends don’t stay around too long.
As with the preceding relationships, it’s too much pressure on the other person to be responsible for your happiness. Share your joys and sorrows with friends, but don’t outsource your personal fulfillment.

In short

Develop the skills of happiness for yourself – it’s a benefit to others and an asset to you. Why would you want to leave that to anyone else?

The Lost of Love Ones

I have received many calls and emails in the past month advising me of a death of someone's loved one. Dealing with the loss of someone you love and cherish is indeed difficult to handle. I have a first-hand experience of losing someone I truly cherish and value in the past month. Coping with the loss of a loved one is never easy.
They appear to be a normal part of your life, but one day, they disappear from your life forever. It is only upon their deaths that you realize how valuable and irreplaceable they are.

I ask can losing someone help finding yourself...
I say for me YES!
I have experienced many different learning event in the past few years but I would have to say losing someone close to me has given me insight on what is really important in life.
I look to one quote differently today than I did a month ago...

Live Well...I know I have done the right thing in life..I have never been in jail and I don't have anyone looking for me...lol !!! I have to be the 1st to admit that sometime in the past I could have done a better job living. With that said the past is the past and I fully intend to "Life Life Like I was Dying"

Laugh Often...this is one thing in life I have become a expert on! Life is FUNNY!!! We just have to look and pay attention. You can find comic relief just about anywhere.  Including in yourself, this I learned from my Granddaughter. She cracks herself up all the time, I know she thinks she is the funniest thing in town!!

Love Much...really is there many more that need to be said! That really says it all, love each other each and everyday!

We all have experienced the lost of someone in our life's and we each will deal with the grieving process in our own personal way. The one thing to remember is we are not alone. One may have lost a brother, a  mother, a partner or a child.

Each person we have lost was loved.

Keep them close to your heart and remember the lessons they taught you! I learned with the passing of the one I loved ...Service for others even at the risk of yourself!!!

As I close this entry with tears in my eyes...Live, Love and Laugh and don't sweat the small shit in life!
(yes, I said shit)

Much Love,
Bridget-
